Packing and Itinerary

Packing

This past week has been filled with packing, packing and more packing! I feel like I repacked the same bags multiple times trying to condense as much as possible in order to try to get it all into my car. I am a self proclaimed pretty-good-packer. lol Somehow I manage to fit everything I needed to into my little car, with the help of my dad, except for my full length mirror!packing Chelsea RItter I started with this mess of stuff. It looks disorganized but it is actually organized quiet well. Clothes, shoes, make up, toiletries, cleaning supplies, laundry stuff, decorations, bedding and so on. My not so little, little brother made me artwork for my dorm and it is too great to not share. packing

Being a planner and a list maker it was only natural for me to create a packing list outlining as much as I could. Click here to see my packing list. Obviously this list is specific to me and my needs but hopefully it provides you with a starting point for your own packing list.

Itinerary

Disney has changed how they are doing check in for housing now, and this change is a great thing! Previously, everyone would all check in at Vista Way and then depart to casting or to move into their apartment. This process would take hours! Now, you get to check into your housing complex! This means you find out your housing complex now prior to check in! Whoo! And this also means much shorter lines for check-in. No more standing outside for hours in line. The first check in group on May 16th said that there check in took 5 minutes! 5 minutes! I received my itinerary today making it all seems to much more real! I will be checking into Chatham Square Apartments in just three short days! On the itinerary, you are given a check in time, a casting time and your housing orientation time. The first group was also given their traditions time, but we did not receive that information for check in on May 23rd. Disney posted a blog post about the changes to the check in process which was quiet helpful. Check it out here.

My itinerary is as follows:

  • Check in: 11:45 at Chatham
  • Casting: 12:00 (this means that the bus to take us to casting will be there at 12. not that I have to be at the casting building by 12, thank goodness.)
  • Housing meeting: May 25 at 3:00 pm.

From what I have read else where, it seems as though we will find out our traditions day and time at casting. The whole process of applying and getting accepted, looking for roommates, applying for housing and all of the long waiting has flown by. It is hard to believe that I begin to move to Disney World in just a few short hours. This adventure is going to be a great one!
